A true story

This morning, my dad showed me the following cartoon which was printed in the Oregonian yesterday. We got a pretty good laught out of it. I think it's a pretty true statement of my life up to this point. If anyone else has any thoughts on this, do share.

sounds like my life. :-) and I have more years on you... :-) i have a feeling I will be adding more bridesmaid dresses to my collection in my near future...always a bridesmaid...hopefully someday the bride. I definitly know a lot about weddings now.

Sounds about right . . . but right now I am okay with that. 19 is too young in my mind to get married so . . . yah. But I do understand where you are coming from with this. talk with you later!

I don't know if you really want to hear this or not, but here goes...

This topic reminds me of David. God annointed David to be King of Israel, but David wasn't king for a while. While he waited, he had to do a lot of mundane, character building kind of stuff. I'm not trying to say the more times you're a bridesmaid the more you'll build character. What I am trying to say is God is giving you the character and skills for the man he has for you. And we need to have the moments of fighting our lions and bears while while tending our sheep. Or even sitting there playing our harp while we watch someone else live out the position that God has placed a longing for in our lives. David went through so much before he was king, but he had one of the most impactful kingdoms that we know of.
