A prayer request

Now, I don't do this very often but I feel that it is necessary in this instance. I was just wondering if you all wouldn't mind saying a prayer for my brother (Guy) and my family. He is dealing with some pretty serious issues in his life right now which I won't go into detail on my blog and he could definitely use all the prayer he can get. And please pray for our whole family, that we will know how to help him through this, to be there for him and to really show the love of Christ to him and to those that are also involved. Sorry to be so discreet with details but I'm sure you understand.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

How I love the Fall, let me count the ways...

  1. The colors: I love seeing the leaves turn all shades of yellow, orange and red. They are so vibrant and beautiful.
  2. The cool and crisp air. I absolutely love the crispness in the air this time of year. Ah, I just can't get enough of it!!!
  3. The smell of Fall. I supose that is my favorite thing about every season. They all have their own distinct smell...Fall's is my favorite, though.
  4. The foggy mornings. Like this morning. It was beautiful! It was cool, crisp, and foggy. Cannot beat that!
  5. The time change. This is my favorite time change (and I know I'm weird because of this, but oh well, when has being weird stopped me before?). I love that it is now lighter earlier in the morning (that was one thing that helped make this morning so beautiful) and darker earlier in the evening, makes it so much easier to get to bed early like I do. :)
  6. Getting warm and snuggly by the fire or just inside where it's warm with a nice warm cup of tea with friends/family/good book.
  7. All the fun holidays that we get during the fall/winter season. It's so fun to drive around and see all the decorations that people put out. I love that people get so into the spirit of the different holidays.
  8. SNOW!!! Now, if only it snowed a bit more down here and not just on the mountain. But hey, at least we have snow that we can see and get to pretty quickly. :)

I'm sure I left a lot of things off this list so please help me out and remind me of what I forgot, I'd love to know what you love about this wonderful time of year.

Love,

Fun with friends and kiddo's

I had a few friends over on Tuesday night for dinner and some much needed catch up: Roxanna came and brought along Sophia (who just loved redecorating my apartment for me and watching the tv), Naomi was there and it was so very good to see her (Naomi, seriously, we need to hang out), and Rachel showed up with both little boys in tow. It was an absolute blast and I think my apartment survived. Here are some pictures for you to check out. :)

Sam and Sophia (Sophia is holding Sams "work" badge, as he called it). And look at those glasses, he's such a little man.
Me, Rox and Sophia

look at the tummy!
Sam chillin in my room watchin a movie
Come on, give us a smile
friends and babies! Oh, and there is little Grant. Somehow he missed most of the picture taking. We'll need to remedy that soon.

Bye!

Reruns suck!

Every show that I wanted to watch last night was a rerun. What the heck? Shows just started in September, they can't be doing reruns already, or at least they shouldn't be. It should be a rule. They have to wait to do reruns till mid to late November....OR NEVER!! Well, okay, maybe not never. If they never showed reruns then I never would have gotten caught up on Grey's Anatomy over the summer.

All that to say, reruns should not be showed mid-October, they should be saved for the summer...not 3 weeks after they have showed and are still fresh in our minds.

Thoughts anyone?

Stories from the front desk

I went up to the front desk for tea and what did I discover? One Mrs. Linda Weber playing the accordian. It was so much fun: polka music at work. I just love the total randomness of this office, you never know what is going to happen or whose going to come through the doors.

And how fun are accordians! I love them!

Thanks Linda, come and serade us anytime!

Redheads - YOU NEED A BLOG!!!

WOWZA! Tabs found a new product for everyone to try!!

I just made a new (and EXTREMELY DELICOIUS) discovery. Lesser evil kettle corn. OH MY GOODNESS!!! This stuff is so great! And low in fat, calories, and all that other bad stuff that they tend to put in processed stuff. Seriously though, do not pass this stuff up if you see it at the store (I found it at Wild Oats) just cause you may not be into lower cal/fat/whatever foods. Trust me on this, it is for everyone, no matter if your watching your weight or not. It is amazing. I had the SinNamen flavor and it was downright amazing. It was just like eating yummy kettle corn but with the kick of cinnamon. WOW! Now, it is a little pricey but you don't have to buy it all the time, it's more of a special treat, but the price is oh so totally worth it! Can you tell I love this stuff? It's taste is out of this world, honestly. I had three friends over last night and between the four of us we pretty much finished the box. SO GOOD!!!! Oh, and they have a handful of great flavors including Maple Pecan, Black & White, and PeanutButter & Choco (which I can't wait to locate and devour!!).

Here is what they have to say for their product:
Fending off one Snackcident at a time. Simply put, we got fed up. After years of being forced to choose either junk food or healthier “snacks” that were bland and unsatisfying, we decided it was time to put a stop to bad snacking…or as we like to say, to prevent “Snackcidents!” So our mission began in a kitchen putting together simple, natural foods with fantastic flavors and avoiding things like preservatives, trans-fatty acids, artificial flavors, and high fructose corn syrup. And, of course, we had to make this stuff fun!Why “LesserEvil”? Well let’s be honest, we’re not talking carrots and broccoli here. But we are talking about all natural, real foods with nothing artificial (nada! zip! zero!). And while we might not be a true health food, we are the LesserEvil choice to those junky and bland Snackcidents.

So, you better go and check them out, you will thank me later, I absolutely promise!!

A new favorite show...like I need another one

But, sadly, it's true. I have stumbled across another tv show that has my vcr humming on monday nights.

HEROES / monday nights at 9:00 on NBC
(check out their site if you haven't seen the show yet)

This is a great show! It's sort of like LOST, in that there are a lot of twists and turns and it's totally weird. I love it!! It keeps you guessing and there is always a hook at the end of the show to get you coming back to see what happens in the next episode.

My favorite character is Hiro Nakamura. He is such a cute and funny guy. Last night on the show when he was in a diner he got all excited when he saw waffles on the menu, it was so funny. Gotta love a guy who gets excited over waffles. Hiro is played by Masi Oka, who just does a fabulous job of capturing this charaters naivety and almost child-like wonder as he discovers and learns how to control this new found "power" of his. The other characters are interesting in their own way and all bring something different to the show but I just love this cute little guy, who seems almost pure and untouched by the heartaches of what all the other characters have going on in their lives. He's just enjoying the life he has, which happens to include new surroundings, new languages, and, oh yeah, being able to bend time.

Anyway, it's just a fun show and I can't wait to see what happens next.

My apartment

I thought that I would share a few pics of my apartment since a lot of you haven't or can't come and see it. It's small but cozy...and I LOVE it! :) And now that you've seen pictures you'll just have to come over and see the real deal(those of you in other states are just going to have to fly yourselves on over).

FINALLY, AN UPDATE (of sorts)

Well, it's not really an update. There isn't much to update you all about, I lead a pretty boring life. But here are some pictures for you all to look at and enjoy. Some are from Hawaii, some are from Beks birthday the other day and a few are from last nights leafy outing to McMennamins. There are a lot of pictures but I haven't blogged in awhile, sorry (this isn't just for you Melissa, but here ya go anyway) :)

A true story

This morning, my dad showed me the following cartoon which was printed in the Oregonian yesterday. We got a pretty good laught out of it. I think it's a pretty true statement of my life up to this point. If anyone else has any thoughts on this, do share.

Welcome to FALL and OCTOBER!

Oh, fall is finally here. It is my favorite season of all!! The air is cooler and the leaves are turning. You can practically smell it in the air...wait, you CAN smell it and boy does it smell good! I LOVE IT!!!! I've found that I love all the seasons as they come because I am just about tired of the last one, but I never get tired of fall. It's just so darn beautiful. I especially love when the sun is shining but it's still cold and crisp enough to wear a jacket (and I'm not talkin' a winter jacket). The thing I love aobut Oregon is that we have very distinct seasons. It's not like in Oklahoma where one day it's hot has, well you know, and the next day it's snowing (is Chicago like that, Annie?). Every season has their own time and you pretty much tell when one season is gone and another has come and taken it's place. I love it and I can't get enough of it! Okay, thats all I got for now. Oh, and Happy October everyone! You got some great plans for Halloween yet? Any fun costumes you're excited about showing off at some fun party? Any cute costumes for those cute kids of yours? Me? I got nothing, at least at this point. No costumes, no parties. That could all change but I don't mind either way.

Anywho, have a great day everyone!
