Akeela And The Bee

I watched "Akeelah and The Bee" on the flight back to mainland when I was coming home from oh-so-great vacation to Kaua'i a few weeks ago. It was a super cute little feel good sort of movie (if you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should). There was this great quote that played a rather large part in the movie that I just loved and thought you might all want to see if for yourself. Enjoy it, learn from it, glean what you will from it, like I did.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. " ~ Marianne Williamson

Oh, and when/if you watch the movie, watch out for little Javier Mandez (played by J.R. Villarreal), he is such a sweety!

Tabs out!

That quote is in so many different movies. I can't remember who said it to begin with. I do love it though. I have yet to see the movie so I will difinately try!
