blah blah blah

Word of the day: disremember - which means to forget
This word is awesome and I am going to try and use it as much as I can since I disremember things all the time. I love it!! It's totally my new favorite word.

Here is what else my Word of the Day email had to say about this word:
Did you know?
English has been depending upon the word "forget" since before the 12th century, but in 1805 a new rival appeared in print — "disremember." A critic in 1869 called "disremember" both "obsolete" and "a low vulgarism," and later grammarians (so that's what they are called, didn't know that either) have agreed; it has been labeled "provincial and archaic," and in 1970 Harry Shaw opined that "disremember" was "an illiteracy," adding, "never use this word in standard English." (By 1975, Shaw amended his opinion to "this word is dialectal rather than illiterate.") "Forget" is indeed a vastly more popular word, but "disremember" still turns up occasionally, often in dialectal or humorous contexts.
I still will try to use this word often and do my share to bring it back into regular use.

Also, I apparently disremembered that we traveled back to Winter and was confused when I had to drive home from the gym in a blizzard. March 28th should equal sunny, not hot and not too cold days with some rain but no, March 28th, 2008 equals very cold temps that produce winter like weather. Yesterday I talked to Jenn, who is in OK, where it is something like 80 degree's. They are experiencing Summer and we are experiencing Winter. Hmmm, I don't know which place I would rather be, except maybe in a place that has Spring weather, weird I know.

Oh, and I just found this picture that I can't believe I have not shared with you all already.
Donna (one of the "redheads" at the front desk) and I walked around the displays that were all set up for the Sportsmans Banquet a few weeks ago and came across the best thing ever...a makeshift shooting range. Yes, that's right folks, there were guns in our church. It was GREAT! And they weren't real guns, just air riffles I think, with little hour glass shaped pellets. I think Donna said they were .22's. I have no idea (as you can tell, I'm sure) about this stuff so who knows if I'm even saying any of this right. But the guys that were running it let us sit down and take a few shots. A few shots turned out to be quite a lot and we turned out (to everyone's surprise, including our own) to be pretty good. :) We got to shoot paper bulls-eyes, a wooden squirl, balloons and christmas lights. The Christmas lights were my favorite because they would explode when you hit them. Talk about a rush! The picture above shows Donna and I showing off our bulls-eyes that we each took only 6 shots at. And yes, each shot hit the paper...and each shot hit inside the smallest circle. It was great and just too much fun! I went home and told my dad that he needed to take me to a shooting range. Maybe I should join the military. HA!! Maybe not.

A quote I heard recently that if you know me very well you will find very funny and fitting.

Jack Donaghey: "Your here early."
Liz Lemon: "Well, I gave up caffeine so I've been going to bed at 5:30."

from the show 30 Rock

Lots of catching up...

Hmmm, where to begin.
Today it snowed in the Northwest. What the heck is up with that? I'm pretty sure it's spring and March is almost over. We have some weird weather in these parts. And poor kids that are on spring break and having crappy weather. Now, I'm one who loves Fall and Winter and the cold weather but there is a time when it's nice to get a break from the freezing cold weather and get some much needed sun and not have quite that bite in the air...and it's called Spring. We get to bring out some of our more warm weather friendly clothes and put away the sweaters and big fluffy jackets. Oh wait, not this week. We've gone back about 4 months in weather. I wonder if it means anything? Like a super hot summer or a really mildly warm summer? I'm not huge into super hot weather (more cause I hate sleeping and sweating during those warm nights) so my vote would usually be for the later but today I'm hoping for a nice warm spring and a hot summer. Any one else care to share their thoughts on this crazy weather we are having? Oh, I will say this...I went out to get some pictures of the snow around the church but it had melted and the sun was shining. That is more like it. Let's keep it that way please. :)

I also realized, well, not really realized cause I already knew this but, I love the color green. Besides painting the office two different shades of green (although that was not the original plan but sometimes it's hard to tell exactly how a color will turn out when it's put on the walls) I have a lunch sack, travel tumbler and thermos that match...without me evening knowing or planning it. Don't worry, here is a picture so you can believe me...
Now, these items were not bought together or with each other in mind. I bought the lunch sack back late last year sometime, my sister made me the tiny tumbler about 3 or 4 years ago for Christmas using a picture that Karl took, and she also gave my dad the thermos last year for Christmas (which he never uses so I stole). I think the love of the color green runs in my blood, or at least is something I share with my sis, apparently. I made this discovery this morning and just thought I would blog about it. How boring am I? Oh well. :)

Let's see...Saturday my dad and I colored Easter eggs. Didn't end up doing an Easter egg hunt but oh well. It was still fun to do the "traditional" coloring of the eggs any way. And you can't see them here, this picture was taken at the beginning our coloring time, but one fun thing to do is to put rubber bands around the eggs and then color them, or color them then put the rubber bands on and then color them again. Aren't those some snazzy mugs? ;)
Oh, and I am so SO SO excited that the writer's strick is finally over. We (Beks & Kristin) already have plans for a Welcome Back party for The Office next Thursday. We are going to watch it on Kristin's super huge tv and Beks is dressing like Dwight and I'm bringing the crossword puzzles...okay, maybe not but wouldn't that be funny if she did dress like him? I think I might pee my pants.
One final thing to mention and I'm sad because I didn't know about it until today and the month is now just about over. But...March is National Nutrition Month. In all honesty, that is every month in Tabitha Land but still, it's fun that they chose a month to celebrate nutrition. But don't stop celebrating on the 31st. Let's keep it going all year 'round. :)
There's more to catch up on but I do need to get to work, hehehe. So bye friends!

Happy Belated Birthday Kristin!!

I know this is late but better late than never is a good motto, I think. :)

Kristin, I'm so very glad and thankful that we are friends! You are amazing and I just love the heart you have for Christ and those He created. You are fun, outgoing, hilarious, thoughtful and I love being a GO Girl with you! :) You listen to my crazy stories and feel open to share your own (which I love too). I hope you had a great birthday, I know I had fun celebrating it with you! May the Lord bless you mightily this year and may it be a year be full of love and fun experiences. :)

Friday night we all went out to dinner at Ringlers and then to the Crystal Ballroom to hear Helio Sequence (and some other fun bands). It was a great night!
